Here is your chance to get in shape and to learn how to protect yourself at the same time!

LEARN TO RECOGNIZE DANGER

Many people with developmental disabilities are taken advantage of because they do not know how to defend themselves or how to recognize a dangerous situation.  In our classes, based on a system called “Krav Maga”, we teach students how to be aware of their surroundings.

LEARN TO DEFEND YOURSELF

In our classes you will learn effective gross motor skill techniques that can be performed by anyone, that will teach you how to  how to punch, kick, throw elbows, and knees.  We also teach students how to get off of  the ground in a fight and how to get out of a choke hold.

GET FIT AND HEALTHY

The first half of class includes a physical fitness workout, so while you are learning to defend yourself, you are becoming fit and healthy.

  • Price:  $60.00 per month, per person
  • Class size is limited to 10 people.

Classes offered in partnership with these organizations:

  • SANDS - Southern Arizona Network for Down Syndrome
  • CPES - Community Provider of Enrichment Services, Inc.

We have the only curriculum in existence that teaches Safety, Situational Awareness and

Self-Defense to people with Developmental Disabilities!

4-day Seminars - "Teaching safety and situational awareness to people with developmental disabilities"

We offer a nationwide "Train the Trainer" program geared towards service provider agencies, schools and groups that would like to teach

Sitational Awareness, Safety and Self-Defense to people with developmental disabilities.

Our main focus is to teach caregivers how to empower people with developmental disabilities and to help them understand safety concepts which include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • How to answer the door safely
  • How to answer someone who asks them for money
  • How to use their voice to attract help or how to say, 'NO!'
  • How to be more aware of their surroundings (situational awareness)
  • What good touch/bad touch is
  • How to defend themselves when 'no' doesn't work

This program is for all ages, but is especially geared towards ladies and gentlemen who are (or will eventually be) in assisted and independent living within the community. We can work with people with physical as well as developmental disabilities, including people who use wheelchairs and those who are sight-impaired.

Please contact us  if you or your service provider, agency, school, association or group is interested in learning more about our unique and effective program strategies. We will offer a detailed proposal to meet your specific needs. We have previously given 4-day seminars at the Little City Foundation in Palatine, Illinois and in Tucson, and we offer over 50 years of combined experience in teaching self defense and 13 years of teaching people with developmental disabilities.
